It’s called a drive through but in many cases you must drive the whole way around the building to get to the speaker…..should be called a drive around :-)
My first project car had no interior except for the seats: no firewall insulation, no padding, no carpet. I wore earplugs anytime I knew I was gonna be using the highway, thinking this must be what it’s like to fly one of those old bi-planes…
I am a Plugger – at 76, I think I qualify. My car is 17 years old with only 31,000 or so miles on it. The muffler does not need to be replaced. There is no rust on my car, and I NEVER go through a drive-through so I don’t have to turn off the engine just to be heard.
This failing car is doing its best to protect this plugger’s failing body. But the heart wants what it wants (specifically in this case, it wants to get clogged up with grease until it stops beating, forever).

The frame is bent, the muffler went, the radio it’s OK. Oh what fun it is to drive my rusty Chevrolet. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N83z4zxjFOQ

Reminds me of the day of cut-outs in the exhaust system. You had to remember to close them when you stopped in the A&W drive-in.
