While I use things from a junk drawer very often, one does not need 150+ twist ties from bread bags. Your mother might have beaten you for throwing away/recycling a glass peanut butter jar but keeping plastic storage boxes that have been without tops since Eisenhower was president is not necessary.
My Junk drawers are always well organized. My freezer, on the other hand, is only organized for about a week before it starts getting all messed up again.

Well, that’s my wife. Don’t throw it away, just move it to another junk drawer.

The glasses screwdriver and screws kit and spare button batteries have multiplied. How long do clipped coupons last before they become drawer compost?

Sparky’s First Law of Junk: No matter what it is, two weeks after you get rid of it, you’re gonna need it.
Sparky’s Second Law of Junk: Better to have it & not need it than to need it & not have it.
FULL DISCLOSURE: My junk drawers (very, VERY plural!) bring me joy. Take THAT, Marie Kondo!

One now needs a special drawer for all those chargers and cords that look alike but may or may not work with any given phone/tablet/camera/computer.
