It’s not quite as bad, but I used to work for Texas Instruments that employed about 85,000. And I would get that question about someone else that worked there.
Now, if this was a bout Baltimore, the answer would probably be Yes. Largest small town in the world. Talk to somebody for five minutes, and you discover they grew up two streets away, and your mum was their HS English teacher. AND you used to work with their sister.
I grew up in Providence RI….one day after high school, my buddies John, Sal, and I went downtown to catch our buses home…we usually went to a restaurant for French fries first, and it being Friday I asked John what he had planned for the weekend….he replied well I have to go to a wedding, my cousin Mary is marrying a guy named Mike…what are you doing and why are you laughing? … I replied i’m going to a wedding too…my cousin Mike is marrying a girl named Mary! we’ll be cousins! and Mike and Mary are still married and send cousin John a Christmas card to this day (and Mike and Mary too)
I’m originally from Montreal and living in Saskatchewan. I bought a house from a cousin (who I didn’t know was a cousin) I have run into more people in some isolated places. More than I’ve got space to list.

That’s almost like saying Ryan Estrada knew Mitt Romney and/or Robin WIlliams who were reared in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.

You know, that actually happened to me once. I was overseas and somebody asked me, “Do you know my friend so-and-so? He lives in Canada, too.”

I’ve lived in small towns, can’t say any of them were tight knit.

How can he eat without the moustache getting in the way. He does remind me a little bit of my grandfather.

When I was active duty in the Navy I use to get a similar question all the time.
