would I give a darn about a barber’s cutting record?

Shearing myself since March. I look like an escaped POW. Thankfully the dog still loves me.

LOL! It’s true, my waiting time for my haircut is less than the time my hair is cut.

Very true. It now takes about the same time as when dad used to cut our hair in the kitchen.

At 75, I’m still plugging along. About 17 years ago I went to WalMart and spent $19 on a set of Wahl clippers. I did that the day my barber told me his rate had gone up to $20. Now I just stand a wastebasket in the bathroom sink, stand over it, and it takes me about 5 minutes to do both my hair and beard.

Very few branches to remove from a dead tree ;-)

But the barber still charges just as much.

Well where i get my hair cut…they drag it out so that everyone’s takes the same amount of time. I would pay extra to have it be a new world record….I got stuff to do.

Does that include the ear hairs and 30 AWG stray eye brow hairs?

Great! I pay by the hour.

Wife cuts mine and it takes less the 5 minutes. Most of that is chasing baby fine stray hair that escape the clippers.

Barbershops just opened here. I needed a haircut back in March before they closed everything. I had the longest curliest hair on my head since the ’70s. I opened the door and 5 barbers were sitting in their chairs and waiting. They looked like a pack of wolves seeing fresh meat.

I still go for the socializing.

A while back I went into a Barbershop and asked for my hair to be cut with scissors, they didn’t have anyone who could do that. I left.

Not really complaining, but it seems unfair to charge the same amount for wildly different amounts of effort.

In ’95, I figured I was paying some schmuck $25.00 every two weeks to spend all of 5 minutes on my (ahem) hair. The next time I went, I had him trim it down to nothing. I went home and shaved my head, and have been doing so ever since. Bald is beautiful!
