My M-I-L taught my husband well. Not only does he close each container properly, he double checks and makes sure to burp every one. I’m the one who doesn’t always close them all that tightly.
Close the lid? I just wish the container could get back in the frig. Better yet, I wish someone besides me would actually look in the frig for snack food before opening a ‘new bag/jar’. If it isn’t at the front of the shelf, directly at eye level, it is invisible. And those pesky drawers for fruits and vegetables, meats and cheeses seem to be impossible to open without female hands involved.
My wife sells the stuff. Lately the new one’s lids are a b— to get on the first few dozen time. And the bowls don’t have uniform sized lids, so can’t reuse old lids

I don’t think that’s true. All the pluggers I know know how to burp.

They used to have a raised area in the middle you pushed to burp them, but you better have it on a flat, steady surface…

They do get harder to close as one gets older and opening doesn’t get easier either.

That’s because none of the lids and bowls match for size anymore but the wife won’t throw them out.

I get them sealed, put them in the fridge, they cool off and form a partial vacuum inside, and then I can’t get the lids off when I take them out.

This plugger can find 3 containers and 5 lids but they don’t match…
