Heck, when I was 27 or so I paid so little attention to age that I actually thought I was what age and then when my birthday came along I found out I was then that age hahaha. Well I had to change once I got married or I would be in big trouble.

It’s not hard to understand, considering he means 1872 or 1873.

I guess the older that you get, the more events kinda mesh together. :/

If you can remember the 60s, you weren’t there.

Let’s see…in ’72 I was ten years old and the family had moved to Las Vegas. Believe me, back then (in that town) the entertainment options for a ten-year-old were minimal at best.

Even history books have to leave some things out or it would be too big to carry or use up too much hard drive space and couldn’t be covered in one school year.

Unless there’s a “special” event to hang a memory on, it’s sometimes difficult to pinpoint the time – my first five years of teaching all run together in a blur (’72_’77)

I remember the years of approximately 5 things. Nothing else is important enough to try.

From 1965 to 1975 I moved over 20 times, sometimes I know something happen, but occasionally I’m unsure where or when or with who it happen.

It drives me crazy when someone goes on for a while trying to remember a date when something happened. Sometimes being exact is important, but most often, it’s not. Now that I’m in the “golden years", I try to remember not to do that myself. I might start out, “Now back in 82, or was it 83, or maybe…”, but I’ve learned to stop right there, say, “Well, that’s not important,” and proceed with the story. I hope that I’m succeeding in this attempt and that my poor younger relatives and friends don’t get glazed-over eyes waiting for me to spit out what it is I’m trying to say!
