Today it’s just as likely to mean he was a hardcore bicyclist. Like Jef the Cyclist in the Pearls Before Swine comic strip, for instance.

I do look at the obituaries every day but have never seen a hard hat …

These days I look at the obits to see if I need to get out of bed .. or if I’m dead.

He’s no longer a plugger if he’s wearing a hard hat in his obit picture.

I don’t know. Usually the picture of them at such a younger age, you almost don’t recognize them. “You mean he used to have a mullet?”

or he just was highly unpopular, you know the kind of guy who never met a stick that wasn’t aimed at his head!

Sadly, it seems that our ‘class coordinator’ has been sending out more and more ‘obit’ notices on our classmates—I keep losing more and more of my friends ! ! !
