So, “back of the net” is a soccer term, then! And, it means you’ve scored, right? All this time, I thought it meant something like "back of the (inter)net, which really did not make a whole lot of sense to me, but I thought it was me just not getting it! I feel like I did on the day I finally found out what a (police) BOLO is (be on the look out)!
If you want your cats to eat the mice then stop feeding them. Barn cats only eat what they catch! (but will get fed if it doesn’t look like they’re getting enough)
I had a cat and a little mouse got in the house and ran straight for the cat. All he had to do was open his mouth. I cried and cried for the silly mouse. I was about 9 years old.

If it bothers you that much, chase it yourself.

My 12 year old cat would probably do that. The 10 year old might. the 2 year old would be all over that mouse! Guess the cats are an older group?

Hmmm — isn’t there jack russell terrier in Poncho? Isn’t that breed known for chasing vermin? Is is REALLY all on the cats? Hmmmm
On the other hand, I really like the ‘casual’ look of the mouse as if he KNOWS there is no threat here… :)

Of course he knows he is safe; look at him strut his stuff like he’s on the cat walk ;)
