Pops is — in human years — 63? Goodness, that is old!

Bittersweet humor as a chill runs up the spine of every pet owner who realizes our pets always pass away too soon…hang in there Pops… our Zelda lived to be 19 years old!

look who’s talking – I started seeing Poncho around in 2003! So how old does that make him?

Hey, for the record I thought, pretty much, the same way when we went from the 80’s to the 90’s. I still haven’t recovered.

Some things were better – I remember when TV programs weren’t full of F-bombs for one.

According to the American Veterinary Medical Association:

The first year of a medium-sized dog’s life is 15 years of a human’s life.

The second year of a dog’s life equals about nine years for a human.

And after that, every human year equals approximately four or five years for a dog.

Unfortunately for a dog that size anything over 10 are gift years.

After a whole lot of lame or obtuse strips in the last couple of months, today’s is genuinely clever.

I agree with Pops, btw— Squirrels have changed a lot over the last nine years.

My neighbor just told me this morning that his nine year old dog died. It was the best dog in town – a calm, beautiful, huge, husky, whose fur was patterned into rivulets across his back. Here’s to you, Otis.

I watched an episode of Dragnet from 1968-70 era and Joe Friday went on a rant about “kids these days” and it was basically the same as 40 years later!
