My neighborhood was quite rural. There were woods and open fields, and we had a good side yard where we had a tent, a good Army surplus one, 10′ × 10′ I think, to sleep out in during the summer. Stayed indoors when it rained, but if there was a thunderstorm I’d sit on the front porch and watch it.
