Yes, amazing how one’s tastes can change- I hated reading as a kid, found it terribly boring. At present count, I have 17 books on my nightstand in process.
I suspect this was s reading for school, and she’d rather have someone read it to her than muddle through it herself. That first sentence doesn’t sound like it would be a pleasurable read.
*Henry the 8 was a monster. The things he did to persuade those Catholics to become Anglicans was horrible. All the possible ways of torture and murder he had done from simple starvation to hanging, burning, crushing, draw and quartering all to bend to his will. So many died because of him.
