Memo for the White House: By the time ā€œpatient zeroā€ shows up, youā€™ve already had ā€œcommunity spreadā€ for probably at least a month. Just ask Boris!

Iā€™m waiting to see elbow bumping enter main stream entertainment, like maybe a singer will make a pop song about it.

Yep Vlad. The reason that ā€œEvery RW accusation is actually a confessionā€ is because the RWā€™ers are telling us what they themselves would do.

Their ā€œdiversityā€ tends to be what the white, old rich men that bought them want.

Meanwhile, the on the left, there are more people of different religions than only Fundamentalist Southern Evangelical, more Women, and representatives with heritages from many other countries, in addition to those heritages from western Europe.

RWā€™ers tend to derive their opinions of the Left, by what other RWā€™ers tell them.

And so very many of the RWā€™ers are lying about those opinions, too.

Meanwhile. Lemme check an article in The American Conservativeā€¦

    ~

Look, I understand people are mad about social distancing and wearing masks, but a lot of people on the Right are losing their minds. Hereā€™s something from a column by Dan Fagan in my local paper, the Baton Rouge Advocate:

The far-reaching, extreme, and radical measures governors like [Louisiana Gov. John Bel] Edwards imposed during the COVID-19 scare represent the greatest challenge to individual liberties since the inception of our great nation. Some of us are reaching a boiling point.

Iā€™d say youā€™ve boiled your brain, Cap.

This nation was founded in 1776. Here are a couple of challenges to individual liberties since then ā€” challenges that took place right here in our state ā€” that were arguably more important than having to wear a mask when you go out for a po-boy during a pandemic:

Picture (The back of a Louisiana cotton plantation slave who had been whipped by his owner, Captain John Lyon)

Picture (Women at William Franz Elementary School in New Orleans yell at police officers during a protest against desegregation at the school, as three black youngsters attended classes at the school. āœ„)

Picture (State militia guard a jail and courthouse to prevent a lynching. Shreveport, Louisiana, 1906.)

So yeah, we have had a few things that were a little bit more of a challenge to civil liberties than the mask. Still, Dan Fagan demands to know: (Whining āœ„)

    āœ„

Seriously, what is wrong with conservatives?

Can we not raise objections to masks, social distancing, and the pandemic protocols without making fools of ourselves?

The stories Iā€™m hearing from conservative friends around the country are really embarrassing.

Mask off, if thatā€™s what you want, but please, grow up.

Katie Miller tested positive; trumpy says he was not in contact with her, so nothing to worry about. . . when I heard that, only thing I could say ā€œDAMN!ā€

    Itā€™s all about soul

Itā€™s all about joy that comes out of sorrow

    Itā€™s all about soul

Whoā€™s standing now and whoā€™s standing tomorrow

    Youā€™ve got to be hard

Hard as the rock in that old rock ā€˜nā€™ roll

But thatā€™s only part, you know in your heart

    Itā€™s all about soul

Really. An announcement came over the loudspeaker in the grocery store last week, something something ā€œand smileā€. We were all masked. I asked my 6-feet-away neighbor how weā€™d know if we were smiling. Probably Asian Namasteā€™s and bows come from their long cultural memory of past pandemics.

Iā€™m still trying to get a handle on the humor or direction of this comic. I meanā€¦right now, maybe more than ever, what the world needs is affection. As weā€™ve seen and already know, there are many more ways to express it than physically.

And while Iā€™m on my soapboxā€¦the whole elbow-bump thing doesnā€™t really make any sense, at any rateā€¦especially after youā€™ve coughed and wiped your nose in that area. I used to try to do fist-bumps rather than handshakes before Covid and now itā€™s going to be a full on namaskar greeting, with hands folded at chest height and slight bow, for me. Altho, Iā€™ll probably just say ā€œHelloā€ or ā€œGreetingsā€ rather than ā€œNamasteā€.
