Boy: Mom, parents aren't cool to be seen with, so will you drop me off around the corner from school? Boy: Um...what are you doing? Woman: I think it might be safer if you walked to school and I sit in the kitchen and drink coffee. I'm sure nobody can see me from here.

One of reasons I retired from driving a School Bus was the driving parents. Often the streets leading into the schools were blocked by parents waiting to get into the parking lots and the busses could not get to our pickup places. Had a police officer tell us we could NOT pass them on the left because they were in the right-of-way and we would be interfering with oncoming traffic!

I’m always seeing references to kids not wanting to be seen with their parents. I can’t relate to it. We never cared if we were seen being dropped off or picked up and neither did our kids. Now I take and pickup my grandchildren and they are always glad to see me.
