Rover: What are today's headlines?
Red: Beats me.
Rover: Shouldn't you know the product you're peddling?
Red: I do. You can fold it into a hat or a boat, housebreak puppies on it, fish in it! Yessiree- newspapers will be with us forever.
Exactly!! Red is peddling Newspapers, not News, so he does know his product!!
Of course, they are still doing pretty well here in INDIA, where it is the only source of news for millions and will remain so for many years to come!!
While I have access to all sorts of media at my disposal, I still prefer to read the News in the print format..
The Harrisburg Patriot News has gone to 3 publishing days, used to be one of the biggest papers in PA. Our local paper has about 20 pages to it now, and most of the news is from the AP, very little local in it anymore.
Dry and DustyNow that is just sad. A state capital can’t even have a daily newspaper! Sure it isn’t one of those rare multi-paper towns and the other one healthy?
Once again this morning, I observed a gentleman relaxing with his freshly purchased newspaper while enjoying his breakfast at the family restaurant where some of us guys from Church gather on Wednesdays. And, a recent issue of Printing Impressions had a feature story about the Buffalo News just spending a considerable amount of money to upgrade their line of printing presses. Newspapers are struggling, but I think they are far from dead.
Wish I could share the optimism. Papers WILL go away 99% to 100% for sure. The last few years shows that. But the comic can and hopefully will stay alive and well right here.

Even the comic section isn’t what it used to be, unfortunately.

It would be difficult to line the birdcage with the internet, even though that is all the majority of it is fit for.
