My best pal will get all the turkey he wants! By the way: refreshing to read an innocent cartoon which still celebrates a day to be grateful and doesn’t get swept up into the PC discussions on that holiday.
I love Red and Rover and hate to spoil this very touching moment between a boy and his beloved best friend but things like this are a VERY bad idea. I just got done reading an article from the New York Post that talked about how Black Friday is notorious for being one of the busiest days of the year for vets because of all the gastrointestinal problems dogs develop within hours of Thanksgiving dinner due to spicy, fatty, etc. foods they shouldn’t have eaten that later give them terribly upset stomachs ….. sometimes even leading to death.
As a fellow dog lover, I know how difficult it is looking into those big, brown, pleading, “hungry” eyes and deny them something as tasty as turkey and other kinds of food that we people enjoy eating so much. But it’s for their own good because they simply can’t digest some things without getting extremely sick and if something were to happen that causes them to suffer in any way that was completely preventable on your part, you’d never forgive yourself. So, please, don’t share your Thanksgiving meal with them — and don’t let anyone else share theirs with your precious pet either!
