I didn’t know dogs every had trouble falling asleep!

Today’s strip reminds me of a Christmas Eve strip where Red wanted to be asleep for when Santa Claus came but couldn’t sleep. Rover suggested Red try counting reindeer but Red replied, “I only know eight. Nine if you count Rudolf.”

Someone asked why Red shouldn’t count Rudolf and I replied that Red seems to be thinking of the eight reindeer in the poem “The Night Before Christmas” and doesn’t seem sure whether the later Rudolf the Red-nosed Reindeer is authentic or not.

It might be better to count Milky Bones instead of sheep!

How could Rover expect to take a nap with Red hovering over him like a helicopter??

If I have a hard time falling asleep, I make up stories.

I don’t know about counting the popcorn ceiling kernels – kind of boring, but it might just do it for you, Rover…sweet dreams

Those races from the bus stop to home is getting tiresome…

Now I want popcorn.

Now we know the reason for popcorn ceilings.

The only trouble with Rover falling asleep is Red bothering him…

Red could talk about long, slow, lazy summer days until Rover falls asleep.

I had never heard of popcorn ceilings before.
