Aawwww!!

Calvinist1996 asked me to return to this strip, so I have. It seems to have become a soap opera, like “Luann”. But I’ll reserve judgement for later.

Awww poor Rover! Such a sweet loyal dog!

Sometimes they seem to speak to each other telepathically when Red is in school. Wonder why they didn’t do that this time.

Rover’s going to need a nice warm towel.

The name of the strip is Red and Rover, not Red and Ruby. I would like to see Red have other friends, though.

Oh, my poor baby Rover! And will Mrs. Smith drive them home? I hope so!

Breaks my heart to see Rover sitting in the rain, waiting for his boy. I was hoping Mom would clue Rover in about Red’s change of plans and keep Rover home . . . but I guess even if she did, his bond with Red was too strong to keep him from the bus stop.

Oh boy……..wet dog in car……..big Rover shake saturates occupants.

nope, he’s that determined to meet his friend. :j

Rover is nothing if not faithful.

Gonna take a LOT of milky bones to make up for this one Red. Possibly half your dinner next time Mom makes steak.

My roommates laughed at me for sending their dog who followed me to work and was waiting outside for me in -30° Fahrenheit. They couldn’t see that was the reason he followed and waited faithfully for me.

Poor baby …..

Poor Rover. Fortunately, dogs forgive their humans. Unlike cats.

Why couldn’t he use his telepathy as usual?

Call it loyalty or stubbornness, but a dog will wait as long as it takes. And on that sad day the owner doesn’t come back, they keep the faith.

A cat would have left a note and gone home (an obscene note). :)

That’s sad about the puppy! A soap opera like “Luann?!” Well, maybe Luann is a little—but the kids have grown up and are young adults. That’s the way life is for young adults. Red and Rover is still pretty much a kid’s strip. Now Crankshaft has taken a bit of a dark turn with the book burning bit.

Awful dusty in here all of a sudden.
