And Charlie Brown’s kite-eating tree isn’t there!

It needs a warm summer breeze to rise.

If you need hot air, there’s always Martin!

“Who in their right mind flies a kite in winter?”

“Only us.”

Red does not question whether he and Rover are in their right minds. Rover does seem to question it.

You should let Rover run with the string spool, if anyone can generate enough speed for lift off, Rover can.

Definite teamwork from Red and his playmate Rover!

We lived across the street from Old Elm Golf Club. In March, before the golfers showed up, we would fly our kites in the fairways. Plenty of space and wind off of Lake Michigan. Fond memories!

We used the winter wind to fly our kite. Our kite was made from an old parachute. We had cut it and fashioned it into a 17 ft delta kite. It was a lot of fun when we could actually get it airborne.

Charlie Brown should’ve tried this.

Ah. A bone tossed to the curmudgeon corps. Proper use of the word ‘airborne’.

Watch out for the kite eating tree…

The logic here is “amazing”!!!!

Same problem in beach sand. Can’t run quite as fast. But the beach is the place to go especially when you live on the lake where the wind comes across with no obstructions.

Keeping a kite in the air is far easier than getting it there!

WOW! A kite gag here and others in Cul De Sac and Peanuts. Coincidence? I wonder.

It would have been entertaining to try to fly a kite in the last big blizzard.
