Must just be today’s layout and color choice, but when I blew the image up the Sentinelese tribesman and his description box look almost 3 dimensional on my monitor. And I haven’t been drinking either!

What the sentinelese has in his hands is a weapon of mass destruction. Let’s send the army and try to kill them all…there are about 100 of them. It should take us about 5 to 7 years to succeed…..

Send Hillary to see how Sentinelese treat their women and advise them on correct conduct.

My thinking has been running more along genetic lines. How can an isolated population of 100 people thrive? It seems to me they would have inbred themselves out of existence after a few generations. There must be, as they say, More To The Story.

Exactly 32,768 per second? Who counted them?

Frequency counters are very adept at that sort of thing. Now, divide 32,768 by 2: 16,384 divide by 2 again: 8,192 4,096 2,048 1024 512 256 128 64 32 16 8 4 2 1It would be impractical to get a crystal to vibrate at the 1 second time base (and large) So, the crystal vibrates at 32,768 and is divided by 2 with microcircuits to get the 1 time-base.(In 1976 I was at the Motorola plant that was mass producing these crystals)

    Literally “tiny thick-head lizard.” Cute.

Sentinel is also a place name in the Elder Scrolls series.
