Between April 25 and 28, 2011, 355 tornadoes ripped through 21 different states. Go go girl! In 2015, Harriet Thompson, 92, became the oldest woman to complete a 26.2 mile marathon- finishing with a time of 7:24:36. For over 60 years, starting in 1952, Detroit Red Wings hockey fans have thrown octopuses onto the ice rink at the beginning of the NHL playoffs.

It used to symbolize the number of games needed to win in order to get the Stanley Cup. Now they would have to chuck two of them…

…and they are typically not thrown at the BEGINNING of games, but rather during a stoppage near the end of the game (when the Red Wings are in the lead).

" ….. were the octopuses injured, or did they even survive…To me that’s just sick…"~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~I agree with you — It is just totally sick. Every time I think there’s a glimmer of hope that someday we may turn into an intelligent species. something like this comes along to dash my hopes.

Most years, Texas is the state with the most tornadoes. But, in 2010, it was Minnesota.

The octpus are purchased from a fish market as food. The origional occurance 60 years ago was done by two brothers who owned a fish market. At that time it took 8 wins to win the Stanley Cup.
