What’s more impressive from a brewery standpoint is Weihenstephan started operation in 1040, the same year that Lady Godiva rode naked through the streets of Coventry England.
Funny, I just looked up the oldest companies in the world, and Stella Artois didn’t make the top 10, despite apparently coming earlier than most of them. Guess the list maker didn’t count name changes.
