After reading and re-reading many times about the British royal family not being allowed to play that classic board game, the other European royal families (Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, Spanish, Dutch) even allowed to play it? Are they (British and other European) even allowed to play Life? It also involves money.

It’s not as if the royal family can’t play Monopoly under penalty of law or something like that; apparently they’re not allowed to play it because when they have in the past it’s gotten too vicious, according to Prince Andrew. Basically, like a lot of families, it starts fights.

I’ve heard that Glover, VT put in a bid for the Statue of Liberty, but, it was felt the town was to far out of the way.

Critics have no clue about things like the tower. Empire State building was considered ugly too. I just heard Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen is the most streamed song of 20th Century. Critics said it would never sell as it was too long and too weird. What a Fandango!

Misleading, as many other “clickbait” style titles of Ripley:

According to these two sites, the check King received for the rights was at least for $5,000. But they both agree that he never cashed the check.

I have used Monopoly to teach my grandkids how to count and “make change”. But they always get tired of the game and we quit before the hotels come out and the game starts fights…

The Eiffel Tower was originally meant for Kandor. But then, Krypton has been destroyed, and the committee had to change plans. Barcelona was the next possibility, when they arrived at Terra, but then their instruments showed that the energetic maximum was Paris. So they flashy-thinged the municipial council of Barcelona, gave them the idea that the tower is ugly and moved on to Paris. BTW: The tower is part of a galactic transmission system.

Barcelona was right. Paris didn’t like it, either. At least, until they figured out how to make it a magic source of francs.
