Believe it or not, even in the XXI century, idiots don’t understand that “anniversary” is a yearly event, annum means year. Like “per annum”. It doesn’t count how many times the date happens, it counts years. It’s different than your birthday because, if you were born on February 28th, the date when you were born happens only once every 4 years. Then, you can celebrate your 10th birthday when you’re 40 years old. It’s funny, and old, to do that for birthdays. It’s wrong for anniversaries.
