Nice dress, George! I watched the miniseries “John Adams”, and I think the White House was still unfinished when he started his presidency as well. It looked a mess.
Washington and Adams lived in Philadelphia in the President’s House on the Independence Mall when it was the US Capital, while Congress met in the Congressional Hall in Philadelphia until 1796. Adams moved into the unfinished White House in 1800.
Man, shoe sizing is really effed up: "The barleycorn is an old English unit that equates to 1⁄3 inch (8.47 mm). This is the basis for current UK and North American shoe sizes, with the largest shoe size taken as twelve inches (a size 12) i.e. 30.5 cm, and then counting backwards in barleycorn units, so a size 11 is 11.67 inches or 29.6 cm.”From wikipedia article about shoe sizing.

Edison would’ve beat Mr Weder to the patent for the plastic Easter egg if they had only invented plastic by his time.

For those who were wondering, Thomas Edison had 1093 patents (but one light bulb to rule them all).

That’s real smart. Ducks keep em pests away and when you’re hungry, you can have a duck stew.

And then they eat the ducks!

That the fact Washington never lived in the White House is in Ripley’s is more of a comment on our educational system than anything,

Some of us have been wishing to keep politics out of the comments for years (decades even)

Those rice paddies in Thailand may be pest free but you better damn well watch where you step.

No one told us that ‘The Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe’ had moved up into Liberty’s high heel complete with an in-ground pool in the back.
George Washington lived in a white house, just not the White House.
Contrary to rumor, Elmer Fudd’s trip to Thailand had nothing to do with ducks.
Many a Greek child thanks Donald Weder for their victories!

Then one day the lightbulb went off in one of the Thai farmer’s head and he said: “Hey! Why don’t we eat the geese instead of worrying about rice?”
