Un felicísimo bicentenario de la independencia panameña desde los españoles este noviembre que viene (a very happy bicentennial of the Panamanian independence from the SPaniards this coming November).

Icelandic people don’t have last names; they have patronymics. Lazy Town actor Magnús Eyjólfsson and former prime minister Jóhanna Sigurðardóttir* for example.

*For Pride Month, she was the first LGBT head of any nation’s government.

Venus flytraps generate magnetic currents so the insect can’t use wi-fi to text for help.

Arthur Conan Doyle was kicked out of the contest because he was only judging the lowest part of the bodybuilders. As they were showing him out the door, he kept shouting The game’s a foot!

The magnetic field generated by venus flytraps isn’t strong enough to be moving any paperclips, but it’s quite similar to the field generated by animal nervous systems. That’s not seen often in plants.

Also, why does it look like Sir Doyle is summoning a muscular genie from his pipe?

At one of the world’s first bodybuilding competition? Does this mean that there were more first bodybuilding competitions? They were all held simultaneously across the world?

And those with Ó as the first letter of their given name get few calls.

Panama was separated from Columbia mostly by Teddy Roosevelt, so we could build the Panama Canal. Columbia didn’t want any canal.

It’s always neat to be reminded that the Panama Canal’s entrance to the north – and on the Atlantic – is actually farther west than the southern entrance on the Pacific.

Panama could just combine the dates on a weekend in November and call it ‘Thanksgiving’.

Doyle picked the thin faced skinny one.

Leave yourself plenty of time if you seek a Jòn in Reykjavík.

Few Venus Flytraps survive the tank beetle.

They must have many unique first names in Iceland. Or few people. The Mikes and Dans alone in Chicago could fill a phone book.

I really wish that wannabe stand-up (so called) comedians wouldn’t use this as their forum. I come here to read the comics; not off-color and/or irrelevant “jokes.”

Even weirder: The Venus flytrap puts out a flower on a tall stalk to attract insects (for pollination) that it doesn’t want to eat.

I had a Venus flytrap when I was a kid but it didn’t do too well.
