While that fact about plants is true, none of the mechanisms they use for those senses are shared with animals, let alone humans. In a way, it’s even more incredible that multiple completely different mechanisms developed for sensing light, vibrations, chemicals in their surroundings and actions on their own bodies, and then transmitting processing and acting on that information.

It’s the sort of thing that makes you think that if life does exist on other planets, it must have some sort of intelligence even if it doesn’t apply it in the same way as humans.
