Jimbo does laundry AND works a full time job while Rose sits and reads a book? Now I know I really want to live in their world!

My current BF is just as attentive and thoughtful as Jimbo. We each have our own houses (and will after my move also)so we each do laundry, but we jointly cook and take care of the dishwasher.

I think Rose insulted Jimbo. I mean, c’mon. The guy “bends over backwards” to be attentive.

@jenbrown1017What century do you live in? My husband and I both work full time and he has done laundry our entire marriage: 30 years. All the couples I know split housework as a matter of course. Can’t imagine otherwise! Perpetuating stereotypes isn’t funny.

It appears to me that EnglishProf didn’t understand the comic.

Hubby used to do the shopping on Saturdays while I cleaned the apartment/house and he did the laundry when we lived in the former. We split the housework when we had our own home. Women wanted to know where the line formed.

He’s carrying a basket of clothes, that does not mean he “did the laundry”. She could have washed & dried it & he’s bringing it from the dryer to be folded. Or she could have sorted it & he’s carrying the basket to the laundry room for her. Because of my bad back & hips I sort the clothes & wash, dry & fold them & have someone else carry the baskets up & down the stairs for me.

    Tricia O,

I understood the comic—my comment was directed to jenbrown1017.

“A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.” — Robert A. Heinlein.
