You're talking to someone in a committed, loving relationship. I believe it's real, but I'm biased. Perhaps you should talk to someone who has necessarily had to take a more realistic view of human reproduction. Mom, his romantic love real? Nope.

“Love” or sexual infatuation? I suspect there are a lot of unhappy relationships brought together by sex, socio-economic advantage, or whatever, but lack any enduring motivation between the pair beyond such. Romantic love would be nice, but it is more often than not a fleeting, idealized state, often burdened with unrealistic expectations that can’t be made. For myself, my wife was already a good friend, so we got together for mutual support and collaboration (two can’t live as cheaply as one, but two can get more done/do it easier than individually) as much as for snugglebunny time.
