What you have to do for it: Be nice Halloween What you get: candy What you have to do for it: Dress up in a costume Take a cold walk around the neighborhood to everybody else homes Trick or treat! - Beg them to give you stuff.
This is the viewpoint of a child, or a delusional adult.
Halloween is open for participation (or not) as you see fit. The other two are tied to family and religion and obligation. Halloween is the best holiday with the least baggage.
