Stream of consciousness posting.

That line, “I knew you were going to say that.”

Makes me think of seeing a speech by Jeanne Dixon in 1968 at the height of her popularity as a “genuine psychic.” I didn’t believe then or now that there was such a thing as psychic powers.

Afterward, people asked me if I found her convincing. I said, "Well, when the curtain opened, the first thing she said to the audience was, ‘I knew you were going to be here!’ " But I’d just made that up.

She had a bad cold that night with the attendant sniffling and sneezing which somehow made her seem even less impressive.
