    AMEN, Cosmo, AMEN!!!

“They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.” — Benjamin Franklin

“What country before ever existed a century & half without a rebellion? & what country can preserve it’s liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. … The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants. It is it’s natural manure.” — Thomas Jefferson ( You’ll find that here http://www.let.rug.nl/usa/P/tj3/writings/brf/jefl64.htm )

Hmm… You sit in the boat, cast, reel the hook back in, cast again, reel back in again, and repeat this endlessly in the belief that eventually you will get a different result, as in a fish actually deciding it wants to eat a worm.

So the definition of “insanity” is also the definition of “fishing.”

    Makes sense…

Birds need a pole and bait for fishing?!

The “people” voted for “change” and got it. The “change” that we got is costing an obscene amount that I’m not even sure how to spell! Unfortunately, the monetary loss is not our country’s biggest problem! Yes; Bill … PLEASE! God Bless America.

Nothing wrong with this country that couldn’t be fixed if EVERYONE stopped voting for Republicans and Democrats. America desperately needs viable 3rd, 4th and 5th parties.

We had a rich old bat fight the IRS for17 years. Never paid her taxes. Her estate, however—-

I’m proud to pay my taxes. Be just as proud to pay half as much.

If they meant individual welfare, why’d they say general?

I did too. That kind of thinking is dangerous and is exactly what the terrorists are screaming all the time.

To the English (at least the ‘stupid party’ sub-group of the English at the time), Ben Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, et al were terrorists!

“Stupid parties” always find ‘terrorists’ under every bed — EVEN Bush’s “stupid party”!

Finding imaginary “terrorists” is THE way that usurping power mad police states (ours included!) DUPE the people into being SHEEP and going along with the big government’s denying the liberty and civil rights of their own citizens, and enslaving them in the name of “safety” or “the public good”!!

As he said, “They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.” — Benjamin Franklin

For 15 years I collected taxes for IRS, including dealing with tax protestors, until I had to find another task. Then for almost 15 years I helped resolve IRS problems and prevent collection abuses. I had to keep reminding my coworkers that this Country was founded on the backbone of tax protest. (And it’s also sad that tax evasion was the only thing Al Capone could be charged with.) So do away with taxes. Pay for your own highways, airports, military, etc. Demand the right to eat uninspected food, and shop for it in unregulated stores, going there in an unsafe car on poor roads. That’s true individual rights. Do away with Congress; we are all reasonable people and we can govern ourselves just fine. We need 50 different countries on this part of the North American continent so that each one can defend and utilize its own differences. That worked well for the Confederacy, and for the 13 original colonies. Until both realized they had to have a central government. If all the politicians you know are such jerks, then run yourself. You too could be Alvin Greene! The problems we have now did not originate in January 2009. We are largely bound by the overall world situation, and have little control over that. Unless we bring all our troops home and become completely isolationist. Maybe that next revolution could try that. Humanity has progressed since the Dark Ages, and even since 1776. Do we really have to regress? Perhaps if we are going to go back to an ideal era in history, we should go back to Biblical times. Sounds like doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results to me.

Brobst and NYUKNYUK2000—Terroristic threats are not covered by the 1st amendment. They are called teroristic for a reason. Perhaps we should all vote for one party. That’s what they do in China.
