I worked in upscale hotels and resorts for many years and know first hand that guest will “appropriate” souvenirs – towels, ashtrays ( in the day ), glasses, bathrobes, etc. We even had them attempt to steal paintings and sculptures from the lobby But one of the most bizarre things a guest took from a resort that i managed, was a complete bed. The maid came in the following morning to discover that the mattress, boxspring, headboard etc. was gone ! They took the pillows but left the sheets and blankets, which were very high quality.
