I’m an ex U.S. Navy sailor. Back in the late 70s my frigate did some work with an Australian destroyer. And we ended up in Singapore. Boy could those Aussies drink. Most of my crew ended up passed out while the Aussies were still going strong. Beer was the main drink of choice.

I knew an Aussie when I was in college (this was when the Foster’s craze was at it’s peak). He said — and these are his exact words, “The only people in Australia dumb enough to drink Foster’s are American tourists.”
