I had a corporate VP who was convinced that I was always coming into work late. He’d see me drifting in about 9:30 to 10:00 AM almost every day. Finally, he confronted me about it.
I had to explain that because I was in charge of coordinating with our London offices, which opened 5 hours earlier then we did, I actually came into work at 4 AM. He was seeing me coming back from lunch!
All he said was “Oh!” and walked away.
BTW: I loved working those hours because I could get more work accomplished between 4 AM and 8 AM when there was virtually nobody in our offices than the people who worked a normal 9-5 shift.
