Back in the day stippling was the art of repairing tiny spots and scratches in film negatives before platting for press…but then I was called a stripper also!

A stripper was also the name for a worker who used a hydraulic jack to put fold lines in brand new corregated cardboard boxes. My Dad was one, and it would upset my teachers when I gave this response to them. I’m 66 years old.

Stippling is also a way of adding a rough surface to a surface, usually metal, to assist gripping. Example: used in place of checkering on the frame of a semi-auto pistol.
