Yes, you can imagine how I felt when the good folks in KC broke the record. I felt like throwing a challenge flag. This strip was already in the can. The Sunday strips have to be finished more than a month before release. I thought I was safe with this subject. The syndicate that handles Tank is in Kansas City. I’m sure many of those loud fans were my friends. (sigh) I’m sure the good people of Seattle will load up on double shot espressos for their next home game, so this strip isn’t dead yet.
Great likeness. Bill, you were always good at this! And you can never go wrong with Spinal Tap; now let’s see if you can get a Princess Bride reference worked in.
Seattle had a bad day when they did the measuring. Rain. It dampen the roaring from the fans in Vancouver. Now if the sun was shining and the wind was blowing in the right direction – you would have heard the people in Vancouver.
Considering we set the record when a ton or two of the fans had left to head for the traffic jam (and eventually to home…..), I’m personally kind of suspicious of it!

Hunter7: I wondered what that sound was. (I lived in Vancouver when the Kingdome [since blown up] was being built.)
