Next she’s going to hire news consultants.They’re going to tell Tank to hire some really hot women to do sports reporting, even if they don’t know a thing about sports!Next comes lots of hockey fights & race car crashes.

The fights in hockey are mainly in the stands between fans now a days. And NASCAR wrecks are deliberate. And grizzled sports guys are being replaced by sports babes.

Is that the sound of printers on continuous run I hear? Resumes being updated and printed out? Or don’t they print them anymore?

News used to be regarded as a loss leader for TV stations and even the networks because it was seen as a public service. Bill Paley at CBS changed that in the Seventies when he decided his News division should generate revenue like any other department and that means ratings. All downhill from there.

Wow, is SHE on the verge of making a big mistake.

Back twenty-seven years ago (almost to the day), Tank’s supervisor at the time was thinking of getting rid of him, and hired a pollster to do a survey and find out what audience reaction would be to firing Tank.

The report came back that for all his fumblemouth, Tank generated surprising viewer loyalty. The pollster added, “If you so much as touch him, I, for example, would personally chop down your transmission tower.”
