The player would be working his/her way through college doing pre-professional training. Colleges have prelaw and premed, then why not preNBA? The downside would be that the NBA may not get a tax write-off and the student would have to pay taxes.
After the “one and done” make them sign two-way contracts with G-League teams and nobody goes up to the big club until their college year graduates.
