How about shadow boxing? If your shadow hits you, you lose.

The only sport I care about is baseball, so I do miss it. My affection for the game has greatly diminished with introduction of designated hitter and inter-league play, so I don’t miss it as much as I might have in a perfect world.

I can imagine Freddie Roach getting a fighter ready for something like that…

I can’t wait until Bill gets to salugi. (https://www.dictionary.com/browse/salugi for anyone who didn’t grow up on the East Coast)

I may have this wrong, but judging by a short promo on TV, NASCAR racing will resume with professional drivers playing a video racing game.

Maybe it time for some of the lesser known sports like chess boxing and rabbit steeple chase to step up

How about Boxing taking a page from NASCAR and Indy Car and having the bouts with the opponents playing an online version of Rock’em Sock’em Robots. Best two out of three bouts.

I don’t really care for sports. Unless I’m reading them in a comic strip or playing them on Nintendo consoles.

I think good hitting pitchers (there are a few) will still get some at bats with a DH (Ohtani for example or when pinch hitters are needed and the bench is empty), but I admit I am tired of seeing pitchers come to the plate and be a near guaranteed out. Sure, it is a nice surprise when they get a hit or move a runner over but it happens less than 1/2 the time a good hitter does it. I would gladly trade the “strategy” argument for better offense and fewer pitching changes. I am ready for the National league to go with the DH.

Considering that the DH rule was adopted in 1973 it takes a great deal of stubborness to continue to oppose it. (Although I opposed interleague play for several seasons after IT was adopted in 1997 …..) Let me add to the list of fans nostalgic for Rockem Sockem Robots!

There is nothing more boring than watching pitchers whiff.
