Apropos of nothing, it has been a tradition since 1891 for African-American families in Washington, DC to visit the National Zoo on Easter Monday. Supposedly this started because they were not welcome at the White House Easter Egg Roll at that time. The Zoo would have an egg roll and other family activities to welcome them.
