I see MLB is scrapping the 7 inning double headers but are keeping putting a runner on 2nd to start extra innings. I also see they now have an “Ohtani” rule where a pitcher can be in the DH spot and stay there once he is pulled off the mound for a reliever. Makes sense to me, I guess it is different than a Joe Maddon/ Kevin Cash double switch where the pitcher goes to another field position while a 2nd pitcher faces a batter and then the original pitcher returns to the mound later on as I am guessing Ohtani can not return to the mound as DHs are not field position players.
Glad I gave up on baseball last year. Never going back until they revert to the rules of 1968 or earlier. (Although I admit the anti-crash rule was a worthy change; almost makes up for the bizarre balk rules.)
The year is 1924.The Marx’s were big in vaudeville but hadn’t hit the big time yet.
They were playing Cleveland,Ohio when Chico rushed in and said he had booked them an engagement in London,England and they were leaving immediately.(The engagement was a success).
Harpo takes up the narration—-
“It took a while, but we found out why Chico was so hot for a change of scene.
“He’d been cleaning up on the locals at pool, until a sharpie clipped him for 20 bucks.Chico swore revenge”.
The great billiard artist Willie Hoppe—-who was naturally a friend of Chico’s—-was in Cleveland on an exhibition tour.
Outfitting im in false beard and dark glasses,Chico introduced him as “a friend from the show” who’d enjoy“a friendly game or two”
On his first turn,Chico’s “friend from the show” ran 220balls.
But before money could be exchanged,a stranged walked in and yelled—“Do you know who you’re playingwith? That’s Willie Hoppe!”
And that’s why Chico was eager to put as much space as he could between himself and Cleveland,Ohio"

The DH is both leagues is the final blow. The final World Series has been predicted for 2042. I think it may come sooner now.

If pitchers aren’t batting, it isn’t real baseball.

MLB has much bigger problems AND they don’t seem to get it or care – rules tweaking while your structure is failing! What dopes.

Yeah like for the complete history of baseball, the DH is a plague on the game of baseball.
