I don’t get why people air football on Sundays. That’s the day before people go back to work and school. Why have a big event on a night before you go back to the daily drudgery of life?
This idea would never fly, but my thought is to postpone the Thursday night games until the start of the bye-weeks. Have two of the teams coming off their byes play the Thursday night game. Both teams would be rested, and with the extra practice days it might both reduce the chance of injuries and provide a better game.
A real snooze fest coming up tomorrow. Washington vs ChicagoAnd as bad as that sounds will still probably get higher ratings than whatever baseball playoff game is on
I really appreciate Tank’s dealing with the injury issue. My youngest son incurred 3 concessions his senior year in football. We were only told of one. His personality took a turn for the worst. It took several years before he started to stabilize.
The only Thursday night game should be the opening game between the teams that played in the Super Bowl. That’s it.
It’s so disingenuous for the league to say how much they “care about the players safety.” Complete, and utter, bollocks. They care about one thing, and one thing only,….$$$$$$$$$$$$ Everything else that spews from the mouths is a lie.
The NFL should go to 3 byes in a season and teams scheduled for a Thursday game should get the previous Sunday off as a bye. Example: The Bashers play on the 1st, have a bye on the 8th and then play again on the 12th and next game is the 22nd. Some such thing happened for the 49ers some years ago when Joe Montana was playing for them. but I’m being logical and concerned about player health and safety, so we know the No Fun League is going to have nothing to do with that. Three byes just means the season will have to start in late August. But little nagging injuries will have a time to heal. Concussions too.

The NFL is smart enough not to compete with College Football on Saturdays.

How about all the games are played on Sunday, no more short weeks. Oops, interferes with the cash flow, costs less to pretend someone cares.

Having spent several months in a hospital, I can definitely vouch for the smaller staff!

Let’s get it over with and schedule games 24/7/365. How much do ya think people will pay for continuous football?

a “MERCY RULE” for quarterbacks. If you’re sacked too may times, you’re yanked from the game for an examination at least.

Why have a Thursday game if it’s only on unviewable cable??
Quarterbacks who last the longest are the ones who can run with the ball as well as they can pass it.See Philly and Baltimore.

NO, they should make Thursday Night Football available free to all fans, not on Prime Video….PUT IT BACK ON NFL NETWORK (at least they own that one).

Goodell’s too close-minded to change the Thursday game.
