Bill Veeck was a proponent of the pitch clock, but the other teams made him stop using it on the scoreboard at Sox Park.

The older generation is not the people objecting in this case, we’re all delighted to get back to the 2½ hour games we grew up watching in the 70s and 80s.

I’ve found the pushback is coming from younger fans who apparently have gotten used to attending games and socializing during all the breaks in the action for scratching and what not.

And I do have a bit of sympathy for fans who pay for the tickets, much of the idea behind the ‘pace of play’ initiative is to make for a better television viewing experience.

It’s about revenue. Plain and simple. It’s always about revenue.

Can’t remember the last time I went to a ball game, so I cannot relate to the purists.

I think there were three teams that were affected the most. Cleveland, Minnesota and Arizona that were not paid.

Alas, in New England the Red Sox are broadcast by a station whose major owners own the team. So the blackouts would continue in any case. [Insert here unprintable expression of great dissatisfaction.]

Diamond Sinclair, and Bally Sports is the epitome of evil.
