What’s amazing/frightening is the power of the corporate sponsors who can dictate what teams are allowed to wear or display…. even in situations as harmless and fan-friendly as home run celebrations.

What, was New Era afraid that they were going to lose sales because of some stupid oversized celebration hat that isn’t sold?

Why doesn’t some marketing genius at New Era come up with an official oversized hat, then sell it at the ballpark? That would have generated much more favorable publicity. And revenue.

When I was young, we used to enjoy eating New Era potato chips.
