Not a question of whether it’s obvious. Should be reviewable simply because it’s dangerous (as Mr. Hinds illustrates with Mr. twister-necked Viking)!

And yet the NFL recuses to use a dedicated ref at games to make calls like that.

and yet again last night in Baltimore, 2 missed face mask calls near the end of the game….

Dangerous plays could all be reviewed after the game. If a call was missed, the player should be banned from playing in the next game.

But it is so much fun to grouse about the refs after the game and a few beers. Just think of what we would be missing.

We could have someone in the booth calling for replays when they see an issue like that. (Only for major violations, not for Neutral Zone Infractions). Wouldn’t slow down the game the rest of the time.

Well, after last night, I’m thinking Hinds needs to go buy a lottery ticket. In a league famous for overprotecting their QBs, that clearly doesn’t apply to Burrow getting smacked square in the helmet on the final play in front of God and country.

How appropriate that this topic would appear the morning after a no“No Call” on Burrow’s face mask on a 2-point conversion to win the game at the very end, as well as the missed defensive holding call on the same play. Terrible. Even the TV official, who always seems to defend the refs, said they should have been called.
