Tarzan writes a complaint to the illustrator: āAccording to the novel, Jad-Bal-Ja appeared from nowhere and killed Belthar. Then Nemone committed a suicide (as a result of grief or maybe some magic) and everyone lived happily ever after. Why did you change the end?! At least you could allow me to kill Belthar, after he ātook careā of Nemone!ā
Answer: āPETA intervened, pointing out that too many lions were killed (by you) in this story arc. Moreover, they thought it would be unfair to deny Belthar of his meal.ā
Tarzan: āWell.. OKā¦ maybe Iāll encounter Belthar or some other lion in the next adventureā.
