I’m so terribly sad to learn that dear Linda Dean has passed away. I have so many happy memories of delightful kitty posts from Linda. It was easy to see that she was a wonderful person. I shall miss her on Ten Cats.. My deepest sympathies to Linda’s family and friends and, in particular, Ruth whose updates were so much appreciated.
(Although this video may appear sad or macabre, it actually isn’t. It is more comforting, hopeful and joyful…indeed, it is about dancing in the graveyard with your loved ones, of being close to their spirits.I hope Linda is dancing…)
I was debating continuing reading this strip and commenting yesterday after finding out we’ve lost Linda. But then I thought that she called me her friend and I came to love her even though we never met in person and realized that my friend would not want me to give up something I enjoy, this would be the wrong way to honour her memory. Linda, I hope we meet someday in the ever after with our cats. Ruth, my thoughts are with you and Linda’s family. Please let us know how you are doing.
On a more practical thought, who will take care of her cats now?
Linda loved to post funny animal pictures to brighten everyone’s day. She’d find special pictures for people that she knew were partial to particular animals. For me, it was Pugs. For Happy, bunnies. And, even when she was feeling her worst, she wanted those pictures posted, right up until it was her time to leave this world. I suspect that she would want everyone to continue to enjoy the pictures and continue to love and care for animals that need us. And, what better tribute to the great, loving, caring and fun-loving lady that we knew, who faced so much adversity with strength, resolve, good humor, love and caring more for others than herself, and an incredible feistiness that I could only hope to emulate.
I cried all day yesterday, especially every time I thought of her good-bye picture. Now, I want the joy she brought to us to continue. I think, as a tribute to Linda and to Ruth, the pictures should continue on the forums. I believe, truly, that she would be laughing and applauding each and every one (even if some are re-runs)!
(OK…Obviously, I am not a “pro” at finding pictures of cats that you all may not have seen, but it’s a start! In honor of the great spirit that is Linda Dean, these are some pix that I found very comical.) And, here is one of my all-time favorites:
Stel says “I think, as a tribute to Linda and to Ruth, the pictures should continue on the forums. I believe, truly, that she would be laughing and applauding each and every one”
I agree 100%!! I think dear Linda would be appalled if we stopped sharing the humor and love on her account. It’s her legacy and gift to us forever.
Many of us spent the day and still today, thinking of Linda. And yes, her last post makes me bawl like a baby.
Stel is correct I believe. Linda would want us to carry on here with the photos, the friendship, the enjoyment of Graham’s delightful wonderful strip! She loved this strip. She’s not the only one. Cutest strip around.
Ruth do come back under your own avatar. We hope you do, when the time is right.
I agree that Linda must have enjoyed herself immensely while posting all those pictures. They [and everyone else’s pictures and comments] brightened my day greatly.
Linda was blessed to have so many good friends here who sincerely cared about her, and most especially the intensely loyal and caring Ruth and Dry (who went to bat for her!!)…. She must have been a wonderful person to inspire such love… I hope you all take heart in knowing that by sharing in her joys you must have helped her surmount her difficulties and kept her spirits high. I am sure Graham and the Ten Cats will always feel buoyed by her love of their shenanigans….
It was so sad to hear about LInda! I hardly knew anything about her, but this is one of my favorite strips and she was such a big part of reading it every day. She must have been such a special and wonderful person. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends.
Stel:I don’t how or why you thought of that particular video, but it was the perfect thing to see! Tears are running down my face and I am smiling at the same time. We will carry on as usual, and that will be the best tribute. Thank you Sweetie!
I have sat back and watch the interaction of Linda and friends on my favorite comic strip. I have a folder of saved pics she posted. I reviewed the folder and feel I too know Linda. Isn’t it a marvel that she touched so many lives? I hope I meet her in the hereafter too. You are all genuine friends. Especially Ruth.
I’m very new to commenting on here, but not so new to reading the comments and enjoying the pictures everyone, including Linda, have posted. There’s nothing I can add to what everyone else has said, and said so beautifully, they’re my sentiments exactly.Linda, you will be missed. Ruth, strength and peace to you.
I’m sorry to say, I’ve only joined all of you recently, but I’m in tears as I write this. Linda must have been a wonderful person. A friend of mine once said “we’ll know we’re in heaven when every cat we have ever lived with comes running up to greet us.” I think that’s where Linda is now.
I too enjoyed Linda’s posts and pictures. Last year she consoled me and sent me good thoughts and prayers when I posted that my dog Clayton had gone over the Rainbow Bridge. I know that someday we’ll all see Linda, all our loved ones, and our pets who have gone before us. Into heaven may the angels lead you Linda.

Somehow, it doesn’t seem right to post funny pictures tonight. I’ve thought of Linda often today. My thoughts of her will be with me always.

StelBel: I really liked the music video. When my time comes, I hope my friends dance -or at least put on some music they know I like and think of me.
I cracked up at the Frank and karaoke picture and I think Linda would have. I hope so.
