Squirrels are not my best friends…they have a nasty habit of eating my tulip bulbs! Lost quite a few this past Spring~~~ So, they can just find somewhere else to call their home! (And I wouldn’t be surprised if the danged squirrel lives in our attic)! =-O
Love the kitty and bunny pictures, they really do get along when raised together! I found a very young cat in a parking lot near a busy highway last night. Little orange girl, maybe 6 months, not skinny but very hungry – I hope she is not pregnant! Very loving and I am already attached but at 66 I am too old to adopt a kitten! Committments this weekend keep me from taking her to our closest no kill shelter (50 miles round trip), by Monday I will not want to part with her. I have friends who are posting signs in the town where I found her. Yesterday morning my sister picked up an old BLIND dog on a busy highway near a school in southern California (no one else bothered to stop, of course) and the owner has not yet been found. Not microchipped, she has put up signs everywhere.
Loved the pic about the TP. After I cleaned the kitten room, I put the roll back on the spindle and forgot to take it off when I brought the kittens back yesterday. HUGE mistake.I opened the door and you can all just imagine the mess.
Ruth, glad to hear you are giving Mr. Tuxedo a good home. I have been adopted by cats in the past, most notably, since I moved to Ontario, Nigel the English Butler and The Ghost in the Heating System. I’ve told Nigel’s story already. The Ghost’s story will follow.
Well, you are all very positive in wanting me to keep the kitten but I really only feel right adopting older cats. I will try to find this one a home and will not be dumping it at a shelter. In the meantime, I am growing more attached. BTW, my 6 year old nephew came up with the name Mrs. Mango!!
Traveling? Check out Cat CafesNo the cats aren’t on the menu, but at the one in Oakland CA allows you to adopt.
What has made cat cafés popular in the East, and now in major cities across the West, other than the quirky and cuddly playmates, is the proliferation of apartments that don’t allow any pets and smaller living spaces that are just not conducive to having furry friends. These cafés allow patrons to have a place to visit when they feel the need for some kitty therapy and love.
How cute are these names? A woman in Washington D.C is fostering a month old litter of kittens and has named them: Waffle, Pancake, Muffin, Hash Brown and Biscuit!
Good news on the adoption front! The 2 Siamese went together to a mom and her 12 yr old son.
The black one and a tabby went to a family with 4 little girls, aged 10 and down. Those babies are going to be loved to death.
Having just 2 and the mama is such a relief to me right now. I have been stressing about what to do with them when we leave for Thanksgiving week.
Susan is sure the last 2 will get adopted next weekend. In the meantime, I want to start introducing mama to my cats. If all goes well, she can have the run of the house and Kathi will have 4 cats to babysit instead of 3.
If some of the adults at PetCo get adopted in the next week or so, mama can take her place down there.
And the owners of the 16 year old blind dog were tearfully reunited with her today! A visitor left the gate open (happens to me all the time) and the dog wandered about 10 blocks including across a very busy street.
He certainly sounds content, Jesse. Maybe you could just wave a feather or string stick around so he can jump and grab it. You an do that from a chair or bed.

Ruth:I just read about Mr. Tuxedo and I so agree that he was sent from on High! Is that going to be his name, or do you know what it was originally?
