Staracat1973: Just be glad that your boy won’t have to be on the pain meds too long. I am going through withdrawal now from the opioids I have been on for the last few years. I got off of the morphine okay (was on it for about 1 1/2 years) but the oxycodone is killing me. I was on it for over 3 years and my body is rebelling. Your kitty won’t have to go through withdrawal no longer than he will be on them. I feel for him and will be sending good thoughts his direction. Keep us posted on his progress as we all hope the surgery was successful.
Gave up on the dinner cruise last night. We spent two full hours driving around on different freeways trying to get to the boat. We started at 3:30 and at 5:38 we called it quits.
@Staracat1973: Just read last night’s comments and am soooooooo relieved Dabdoob is home again recovering. My Tyler sends his best to his feline buddy. Dabdoob…you are going to feel much better now….your parents are the BEST.
@QOA: OMG but your travels are exhausting but great. Too bad about the boat but your desdription of the Subway/leftover Chinese food dinner made me smile. That is some haul of fabric you bought yesterday. Should keep you busy and out of too much future trouble when you get home. Don’t forget souvenirs for Moose, Casper and the Scootster!!!!
Since the flood of donations on my birthday I’ve received a total of $40 from two donations.Still deserves a “Woo Hoo!”. Every donation gets me closer. One of the donors may have been outside GoComics. I didn’t recognize the name.Of course, that doesn’t necessarily mean anything. It still could have been someone that reads the comments but doesn’t comment herself. Now, too the meat of the update.Ive given up hope on finding an adequate van at any of the government auction sites. Im still going to watch them, but i think that its a waste of time.Except for the first one that i bid on, everything is worn out, busted up, or just wrong. Even if i did get a mini van in good condition, it would still have to be converted. And that it my sticking point. The cheapest conversion is still $13,000 .Im far better off, i think, just going for a used conversion van.$20,000 (more or less) for a van with less than 100,000 miles is better than adding another $13k on top of something that has 200,000+ miles on it. Bought “as is” without a mechanic going over it first.Filthy dirty, never cared for by the people that checked it out of some motor pool.Im still going to watch the auction sites, but i’m going to watch the “used listings” of the wheelchair van sales in Portland/Salem/Corvallis closer. On a different note, I’m looking to rent a space in a local “Antique Mall”. They charge $6 a square foot and require a two month rent. I am waiting for a space no larger than $50 a month to open I still have a lot of collectible things of moms that i feel that i can let go of. And, the wife one of my clients has a bunch of “stuff” that she would like too get rid of.Im going to use it as a place to advertise my GoFundMe campaign. Put up a big sign saying that all the proceeds from that booth are going to buy a care provider a wheelchair van. Even if i just break even on sales, it might still bring in some donations to the GoFundMe sight.AND, my boss is big on board with it. She wants to donate some old things to it, and has suggested that i put in a hanger for clothing. Scrubs and such.Ive goten good at looking for nice bunnies at GoodWill, so i can watch there for dust collectors in good shape. Buy something for $1.99 and put a $4 or $5 price tag on it.And if its a total bust, it will only cost $100 and time. And be a good lesson learned.Well, thats the plan. Now all i have to do is wait for a call back on an available space.Again, thank you all that have helped me.Its only a matter of time. Im almost a quarter of the way there.Woo Hoo!
Woohoo! Dabdoob had his first bowel movement last night, AND he went in the litter box, all on his own, to do it! And he even did it the way he used to before all the drama, where he digs all the way to the bottom of the litter, then goes poo. No covering it, but that’s ok, I prefer it that way right now so I can see what he’s done easier. I wish he’d go potty when I’m around, though, instead of in the middle of the night, so I can watch his behavior to see if he looks like he’s in distress or not. I can only stay awake for so long, sigh. He did make a commotion in his room fairly shortly after going, though, so I woke up and went to see what was up. Had to clean his little tushie off, and wash his cone, since he can’t clean himself yet, although he certainly tries, and got his cone all messy. I suspect he made the commotion because he made it stinky in the room, and wanted to get away from the smell – lol. Either that, or he was looking for his treats for being a good kitty & going potty in the litter (prior to finding out about the hernias, we’d been trying to retrain him on the litter box by giving him treats and lots of praises whenever he successfully goes potty in the litter – no litter, no treats or praise. He responds well to anything food related, heehee.)
