Taking a break from moving boxes around. The kids have done great. They weren’t sure the first night on Monday when I brought them over, but since so much of the stuff was familiar and smelled like home they both settled down within a few hours, crawled up on me and went to sleep. They really have been good except for getting up on things. They never did that at the old place. They just need a rule refresher. I am stiff from the fall day before yesterday. I have a scraped shin and two very sore knees. I have bruised on my hands where I landed, but I have several from just moving stuff. My hips are fine and don’t hurt, so I should be okay. We have one more large load, bedroom furniture, that hopefully we can do either Friday or Monday. We can borrow a trailer again. Just won’t have extra muscle. Not sure how we will move a couple of things with just one old man with bad knees and me, but we’ll figure something out. Definitely will need good thoughts and prayers. My old landlady wants me out by the 15th so don’t have as much time as I thought I would. Moving bits and pieces every day. Had to go over at k5 this morning. No one had brought anything for the kids to claw. They don’t claw the furniture, but this morning they just could not contain themselves any longer. As I said, they have been great. Even Precious has been braver. She just sat on some boxes while the Cable/phone guy was here (I am not in a studio so there is no place to hide). The noises from the hall still make her nervous, but she is getting better about them even. Buster sits at the open balcony door (screen door is closed) and even that isn’t a constant spot. He is laying on the arm of the chair right now watching me type.As long as the weather holds and there isn’t anymore ice or snow for me to fall on, I should be good. Hopefully, by the end of the month all this will be old hat.Again, think good thoughts and pray for me. It does help. Will check back in when all is moved.
